Late Friday night
Once again, busy week so lots and lots of pictures at the end.
Work was nuts most of the week, especially with the high temps. Early on, it got posted that both shifts would work today (Friday), full shift. Last night at our lunch, 2nd shift got cancelled for today and 1st shift was going to end up coming in today to find out that they got screwed over and had to work a full shift. Sucks to be them, and while I would have welcomed the extra money, I'm not going to complain about having had the day off.
It was MISERABLE hot again today. I went out once, to get a sandwich from Subway for a late lunch, and the other half will be my dinner. The girl didn't do a great job of it, but it will keep me fed for tonight. It's just too hot to do any cooking. I'm not even interested in heating up leftovers. I had to take a rinse off shower earlier just to get the sweat off and cool down.
Well, much as I hate to lose all the free traffic Etsy sends me, I have finally had my fill. I don't mind the fees that pay for loads of advertising and free traffic, but I've set everything to expire and am moving to Shopify for good. Despite the fact that Shopify and I do not get along well on the whole shipping thing - some of the apps do not do well for putting products into MY shipping profile instead of theirs, even when it's set up to go into the main one and not the app profile. It's just an extra step for me is all, and annoying, but I can deal with it. Just means I daily have to go in and edit products a bit in the shipping. Oh well...
So what did Etsy do to lose my trust and business? They've been secretly deleting products from my shops, all three of them, in the last few days. No warning, no emails to notify, nothing. Just poof, they disappeared. Around five per shop, just suddenly gone. It doesn't sound like much, but how can I trust them now, with making products I paid to list go poof like that? I may have a couple minor issues with Shopify, but I can work around those. Paying to list a product that then disappears without warning, rhyme, nor reason, I can not. I'll struggle to build the shop instead. It may take longer than intended if Etsy had behaved itself, but I'll make it. What I wonder is why this is happening? I've NEVER had this kind of thing happen with Etsy before without some kind of communication from them, and it's only happened ONCE ever. So I'm left with no choice but to move the shop, which is going to
Now that it's cooled off a bit, I can quit resting through the heat (better than WORKING through it, by far!) and get house chores done, plus a short grocery list. With luck, and one more short rest in a few hours, I'll be able to muddle through shopping as soon as the store opens, get that done, home, unloaded, and put up, and then have the rest of my weekend until I have to go back to the Just Over Broke to do little more than work on the shop.
On to pictures!
